Back To The Land
It’s hot and I’m digging. How many ways can I say it? Even I’m bored with my blog. Since a photograph cannot capture the scope of what I’ve accomplished, I’ve decided to take a break from writing about the pyramid and write about how we built our house.
We bought this land in the fall of 2004, a 6 acre pie-shaped parcel on the side of a mountain. Since there wasn’t even a driveway, we spent that first winter in Florida, near the grandkids. Before we left for Florida, we found a local guy with a backhoe who agreed to put in a driveway as soon as the weather broke in early spring. He also had a friend who digs wells for a living. We agreed to return in early March of 2005.
In the end we got about half of what we were promised, two months longer than promised. But the work was cheap, and we were really happy to be rid of him. The well guy did a great job. Our water is great and plentiful. His wife came even before the driveway was in to ‘witch’ for water. She had a twig cut from a cherry tree, and could barely hold on to it when she came to the spot that is now our well.
After the driveway was cut, just before the stone was delivered, we found someone who was giving away a mobile home for free. We went to look at it and it was worth every penny. We probably should have spent a few thousand for something we could live in while we were building. But then, we may not have seen as inspired to finish.
After the trailer was delivered, the telephone poles were placed, electricity connected, the well was dug – we were ready to move our RV here. It was a 1988 27-foot Ford Catalina that I found on ebay for $4,000. The bidding ended on Christmas Eve. I had three windows open on my computer, and placed the last bid 5 second before the bidding ended – and won! We bought it to use as a support vehicle for a cross-country bike ride we were planning in the spring of 2004. It needed some repairs, but made it all the way across the country and back, and just barely to the land. In fact, in stalled at the bottom of the driveway. We thought it was dead, but after a few minutes, in it’s last breath, made it up the driveway and stalled again a few feet away from the RV plug we had just installed. It was home.
Now, finally, with all the workers gone, we were ready to begin. But where?
To be continued…

Astrophysicist Alexei Dmitriev says that both Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 satellites reveal that our sun, as well as our entire solar system, is now moving into an interstellar energy cloud.
